Chalices
A chalice is a communion cup - a cup with a foot, a consecrated church vessel that is used only at the Holy Liturgy. Pour red wine and a little water into the glass. At the Holy Liturgy, it is sanctified and transformed into the Blood of Christ. The chalice comes from the cup that the Lord Jesus Christ gave to his disciples at the Last Supper to drink His blood from. Chalices made of wood, glass, stone, and later also made of silver, gold and other materials were used in the Church.
